IS BONDI BEACH IN SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA OVERRATED?
You may be a little disappointed by this world famous beach
It surprises me that Bondi is the one beach in Australia that gets the most attention around the world. This country has the most incredible coastline with thousands of stunning beaches waiting to be explored, but this is the one on everyone’s bucket list! Yet, I’m a hypocrite. I did the same.
I have visited Bondi Beach hundreds of times, but the first time I came here was Christmas Day back in 2006. There was litter everywhere; it was dirty and packed out with drunk people. I just turned around and headed back to my hostel after about 15-20 minutes. I was so disappointed!

In 2008, I decided to give Bondi another shot. It was just as busy this time, but I sought out a spot and sunbathed for the afternoon. It was okay. There were scores of people around having fun and frolicking in the water, but I have seen numerous amazing beaches in this country, and this one is not that special. I believe you go to Bondi for the vibes, café culture, friendly locals and great shopping. Bondi itself isn’t a bad spot. There are plenty of cool eateries and bars, and I think the beach has helped create this vibe, but as far as beaches go, sorry folks, I have seen way better, which I will share with you on this blog.
